Cemile Sahin: Alle Hunde Sterben

Cemile Sahin tells the story of nine people who find their exile in a high-rise building in western Turkey in nine episodes. They all have experienced torture, violence and abduction by units of the Turkish army and police. Among them: A mother loading her dead son onto a pickup truck. A man who places his sleeping daughter outside in the bushes before setting fire to his house. A woman who is chained and held in a dogshed. As they recount their escape, the systematic terror of the Turkish military catches up with them. Alle Hunde Sterben is a chronicle about a country marked by militarism and nationalism - told in a decisive, clear, furious way.
